JRP Managing Director appointed ECA Branch Chairman - Thames Valley (1st Feb 2009)

JRP are proud to announce the appointment of Jim Pridham (Managing Director) as Branch Chairman of the ECA Thames Valley Branch. Founded over 100 years ago, the Electrical Contractors' Association (ECA) is the UK's largest and leading trade association representing electrical, electronic, installation engineering and building services companies. Recognised by government, commerce and industry as the authoritative voice of the sector, the ECA is among the nation's best resourced representative associations.

The Association works closely with government and key national bodies to improve industry standards and procedures. Its comprehensive, progressive and innovative services are highly respected and renowned throughout the industry.

ECA members range from local employers with only a few operatives to national multi-service companies with several branches employing thousands. ECA members' aggregate turnover is over £5 billion; they employ more than 30,000 operatives and support 8,000 apprentices in their craft training. Many operate worldwide.

J. R. Pridham Services Ltd. have been members of the ECA now since 2003 and in that time Jim has represented the Company at Branch meetings, several Regional Executive Committee Meetings, National and Regional Conferences.

Jim states 'At the last ECA AGM Meeting held on the 28th January 2009 I was proudly elected Thames Valley Branch Chairman. Having served as Junior Vice Chairman and Vice Chairman in previous years this was part of a natural progression. There are a number of people within the ECA that I have to thank for this appointment but it’s not without encouragement and support from the other Company Board Members that I’m able to accept this prestigious position.

The Thames Valley Branch forms part of the Central South Region which has 6 Branches in total. The Branch has 72 member companies and 4 Associate Member organisations including Thames Valley University and Bracknell and Wokingham College.

'As a Branch Chairman I am automatically elected as a delegate on the Regional Executive Committee for the Central South. This ensures that we are kept abreast of major factors that affect our business and industry as a whole. These are unprecedented economic times, we will need to be alert and agile to respond to every opportunity and challenge. Intelligence through information will play a key role in our survival. The ECA is a valued source of that information and we will take advantage of the resources that it provides'.
